Celebrating three years of local independent spirit in downtown Eugene, we invite you to join us as BWOB gives up the ghost at our Last Hurrah. The event will be a benefit for Books for Kids, a program of the Willamette Writers’ Group which provides books for underprivileged children and teens in Oregon communities. |

Local band The Ineffectuals joins us to perform two sets of their brand of low-key indie rock. The Ineffectuals are an up-and-coming band on the Eugene music scene, and are releasing a new EP this month. As one of our last acts as Books Without Borders, we show our support for the local music scene by giving The Ineffectuals 1/3 of the ticket proceeds from BWOB’s Last Hurrah, and they support Books for Kids by accepting whatever that may be as payment in full. |
Local authors JoJo Jensen, C. Lill Ahrens, Marva Dasef, Maryl Barker, Diane Bentley-Baker, Hope Lyda, Eileen Peterson, Ann Herrick, T.L. Cooper and more join us to show their support for the Books for Kids program. Authors will sign and sell their own books, donating a portion of their proceeds to Books for Kids. In some cases, when appropriate, the authors have also offered to donate copies of their books so that Oregon kids can have books to call their own. |
Tickets for the Last Hurrah are $5.00. The ticket proceeds will be split evenly between Books Without Borders (to cover expenses and final bills), The Ineffectuals (to help support local music and culture), and Books for Kids, with the goal of earning enough money to donate the remains of our children’s section. |
